Debbie Keitel Reveals What Movie Characters Helped Influence Her Wrestling Character
Debbie Keitel discusses what movie characters helped influence her wrestling character.
Debbie Keitel explains where she drew inspitration for her professional wrestling characters.
Keitel’s wrestling character is a unique one in itself, as she has brought a new spin to the original Mean Girl style character in professional wrestling. Keitel has found success across the UK and Ireland with this character, recently linking up with Anita Vaughan as The Gals.
While speaking to Fightful’s Corey Brennan in a recent interview for Fightful, Keitel was asked what inspired the character she portrays in wrestling.
“There’s so many loud mouth women and a lot of my inspiration comes from Patsy Stone, ironically, in Absolutely Fabulous, there’s so many movies. I love films. I love movies. Like my gear, my persona, my everything comes from a film, like literally everything. There was a character called Debbie in The Addams Family who was the nanny and she was so loud and she wore all white and she had a blonde bob and she looked so elegant and then the minute she opened her mouth it was like, oh, she was like a terrible person. I just pulled little things like that from films and I was like, ‘oh, this is who I think Debbie should be,’ and this is how I want to act and this is how I want to carry myself and this is what I want to wear and this is, you know, how I’ll hold a cup and, I just pull different things from film and TV. Then it just kind of happened, and it turns out that it’s actually quite natural to be that way.”
It was recently announced that Keitel will make her return to Progress at the beginning of next month and also recently made her debut for NORTH Wrestling.
Elsewhere in the same interview with Fightful, Keitel would discuss working with Lyra Valkyria as The Woke Queens. You can read more about that here.
