David Arquette Wants To Earn Respect By Having A One-On-One Match With Cody
David Arquette has a way to prove himself.
Actor, director and producer David Arquette has been on a run in 2018 all in an attempt to earn respect from wrestling fans. David Arquette has stated over numerous platforms that the moment he had when he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship bothers him and he wants to pay that moment back by getting in the ring and competing for the fans.
In the process Arquette has broken three ribs, had his body bruised and recently underwent elbow surgery. TMZ Sports had the opportunity to catch up with Arquette again and asked if trying to get to WWE is his goal and Arquette went on to explain that the only thing he is chasing is respect and he shared that one of the ways to earn that respect is by going one-on-one with Cody.
“No, no. WWE is not the goal. I love WWE. l’d like to do anything with them ever but my main goal is getting some respect.” He stated. “That’s really what it’s about.” Arquette continued when asked about if he has the respect that he wants, “I don’t know. I’ve called out Cody Rhodes, so we’ll see what that… because his dad… me and his dad wore the same belt and if I can get him to respect me then I think I could get other people to respect me, and he always cheats in his matches so if he win a match without cheating, and the other thing is, I really wanna get my wife Christina, because his wife Brandi is amazing, and she always dresses in these cool outfits and I want to get my wife [involved] because she looks like Ms. Elizabeth – Macho Man’s ex and I’ve always had a whole thing so… yeah, respect. So if I can get Cody to respect [me] I think I can get everyone’s.”
Two weekends ago “The American Nightmare” Cody noted on social media that he heard a “loud pop” in his knee and to read the latest update on that situation, check out Fightful’s published article on the topic.
David Arquette indeed earned the respect of the fans when he continued to wrestle after having his neck cut open at Joey Janela’s L.A. Confidential’ show and to read more on that, click here.
