Darren Young Returns From Injury At RAW Live Event
Last night, at the RAW Live Event in Wichita, Kansas, Darren Young made his return to the ring after being out for 9 months with an elbow injury. He posted this photo of him backstage with Kalisto.
Young was a surprise entrant in a #1 Contender's Battle Royal to determine who would face The Miz later that night. Young didn't win, but he did manage to eliminate his old tag team partner Titus O'Neil before being eliminated himself by O'Neil's current client, Apollo Crews.
(Jason Jordan went on to win the Battle Royal, then lost to The Miz later via heelish chicanery.)
Young originally injured his elbow during a taping of Main Event. Video of the injury is below, but fair warning: It might put you off your lunch.
Yikes.
Young was diagnosed with a hyperextension which resulted in a traumatic dislocation & fracture of the coronoid process of the right elbow. He was cleared to return to the ring back in early August.
(Incidentally, you can watch him defeat current WWE Champ Jinder Mahal in the video at the top of the page, in case you want to know how far we've come since last Labor Day.)
