Dark Sheik Discusses The Creation Of Hoodslam, Says She Believed In A Lot Of The Local Talent

Dark Sheik discusses the creation of Hoodslam.

The promotion, which is ran by Sheik, is one of the longest running promotions in the current world of independent wrestling, as it was first founded in 2010. Hoodslam regularly features top names in independent wrestling like Trish Adora, Allie Katch, and Brooke Havok.

In a new interview with Fightful’s Overbooked podcast, Sheik was asked about the creation of Hoodslam and how it all came together. In response, she noted that the universe put all of the right things together at the right time.

“One was the universe telling me, here’s these parts, so and so had a ring, so and so had a building. The universe provided and the other was, I believed a lot in the talent, the local talent. I didn’t think they were being used well, I don’t think the places that were using them were using them well, and they just needed to get seen in a new way. This was a very different world, you couldn’t really, you can’t go on YouTube and promote your stuff. You could go on YouTube, but just the idea of the show is live streaming tonight and you can watch it right now, was still a little bit away for a lot of independent companies. So we had the thought to do just with the live show and I don’t know, I just saw a different way of wrestling to be and I knew it could be that very easily, just given the opportunity and with the right people. Like I said, it was all there in front of me, the universe said, here you go, please do this. I said, I’d really rather not, seems like a headache but here we are thirteen years later.”
