Dario Cueto Gets New Name In MLW And Azteca Underground
Dario Cueto will take on a new name in MLW.
At the end of Wednesday’s MLW Fusion it was revealed that Dario Cueto (played by Luis Fernandez-Gil) is El Jefe of Azteca Underground. Cueto sacrificed Salina de la Renta and plans on opening up a new temple.
Cueto was the on-screen founder and promoter of Lucha Underground and received great reviews for his work.
Unfortunately, Lucha Libre FMV owns the trademark on “Dario Cueto” and MLW can’t use the name moving forward.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports Cueto’s new name will be Cesar Duran. A trademark has been filed on the name and there will be a storyline explanation for the name change.

Fernandez-Gil has signed a deal with MLW, which happened to coincide with Salina de la Renta’s contract expiring, which she confirmed on social media.
