Darby Allin Says It ‘Would Be Fun’ To Team With Sting Against Ric Flair And Andrade El Idolo
Ric Flair made his first post-WWE appearance on Saturday at TripleMania XXIX when he accompanied his future son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to the ring for his match against Kenny Omega.
One of Flair’s most famous rivals in wrestling is Sting as the two battled throughout the 90s in WCW.
Like Andrade, Sting is currently signed to AEW and is currently aligned with Darby Allin.
Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Allin commented on a potential dream match teaming with Sting against Flair and Andrade.
“Yeah, that’d be fun! Anything is possible, I feel. You’ve just gotta be patient and see what goes down, and where the wind takes you,” he said.
Speaking about his partnership with Sting, Allin said, “The first night he debuted, I went in his locker room and we start talking and stuff like that. I was showing him more videos of the stuff that I do, my promos and stuff like that, and he got to see my creative side out of the ring. He’s the guy I really hang out with backstage. His dressing room, he’s got his own little private dressing room and he says it’s mine. He likes to be put to work, he wants to be part of the show. He doesn’t wanna just sit there and collect the cheque. He wants to have things to do, so it’s real cool to be a part of that,” he said.
Allin and Sting are set to team up to face 2.0 in a tornado match on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
