Dan Moloney Talks Being Featured In Best Of Super Juniors 30, Says He’s Not A ‘Risk-Taker’
Dan Moloney is excited to compete in the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament.
The 30th edition of the Best Of The Super Jrs tournament is rapidly approaching in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Big stars like ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, KUSHIDA, Lio Rush, Hiromu Takahashi, and El Desperado are all set to start battling it out in just a matter of days to determine who is the best Junior Heavyweight in NJPW.
Another person that is set to be included in the tournament is RevPro star Dan Moloney. Before being announced for the tournament, Moloney had only competed for NJPW on one occasion back at the Royal Quest show in 2022.
In a new interview with New Japan Pro Wrestling’s website, Moloney was asked about what he brings to the table as one of the bigger competitors in the tournament.
“An older Japanese legend last year, I won’t say who, he talked about me as ‘the ultimate power junior.’ I like that label. I’ve packed 125 kg of heavyweight power into a 90kg body. So everyone in that tournament is going to feel like they’re facing a heavyweight. I’m not the risk taker that some of these guys are- I like to hurt people and I like to throw people around. That’s what you can expect.”
Moloney is set to take on former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion BUSHI in the first matchup of the tournament on May 12. Fightful will have full results coverage of the tournament as it unfolds throughout the coming weeks.
