Dan Lambert Expects To See More Wrestling And MMA Crossovers

Since becoming a regular on AEW television in the summer of 2021, Dan Lambert has brought plenty of American Top Team talent with him.

Wrestling fans have seen Jorge Masvidal, Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos, and Paige VanZant step foot in a wrestling ring and get physical in some capacity. In the case of VanZant, she signed a contract with AEW and made her in-ring debut at AEW Double or Nothing.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Lambert said that more crossover stars could be coming.

“Lots of fighters have expressed interest in pro wrestling, so I’d expect to see some more crossovers,” Lambert said. “ATT is in the business of training people to win fights. Nothing more, nothing less. And we plan to keep doing that until we are too old to get ourselves to the gym.”

Speaking about the crossover between MMA and wrestling fans, Lambert said, “There’s a vocal minority of people in MMA who hate pro wrestling, and in pro wrestling who hate MMA–fans and wrestlers and fighters included. But I’ve found there’s a lot more who like and respect both. There are a lot more similarities between the businesses than most people realize.”

Along with leading American Top Team in MMA, Lambert leads the Men of the Year (Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky) in AEW.

Sky recently spoke about the in-ring debut of Paige VanZant and not wanting her to be compared to Ronda Rousey. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
