Damian Priest Wants Finn Balor At TakeOver, Shad Gaspard Honored | Post-AEW/NXT Fight-Size Update

Here’s your post-NXT/AEW fight-size update for May 20, 2020:

NXT:

– NXT opened with a graphic honoring Shad Gaspard.

– Although the match wasn’t made official, Damian Priest did issue a challenge to Finn Balor for a match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. Balor has yet to comment on the challenge.

– Speaking of NXT TakeOver: In Your House, the first match of the event has been made official, with Tommaso Ciampa taking on Karrion Kross.

– El Hijo del Fantasma and Akira Tozawa share a moment of sportsmanship before Tozawa is brutally attacked.

– El Hijo Del Fantasma punched his ticket to the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament finals, but his opponent will be revealed next week.

– In addition, next week’s episode of NXT will also feature a cage match between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher.

– Mia Yim picks up a win over Santana Garrett before dealing with Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano.

– Shotzi Blackheart is putting the entire women’s division on notice with a tank.

– Roderick Strong managed to pick up the win against Dexter Lumis.

– In the main event of tonight’s episode, Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley weren’t able to score a definitive win over each other thanks to NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair making a surprise appearance.

– Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur paid tribute to Shad Gaspard on commentary. Meanwhile, Big Swole and Private Party honored Shad in the crowd.

– MJF was able to successfully win his “tune-up match” against Marko Stunt just days before he takes on Jungle Boy at Double Or Nothing. Highlights of that match can be seen below.

– The Double Or Nothing lineup has been updated and the new match announced can be seen here.

– All hell broke loose as Arn Anderson and Jake Roberts nearly came to blows before Cody and Lance Archer face off for the TNT Championship at Double Or Nothing.

– The TNT Champion will soon find out his first title defense next week in a battle royale.

– In the main event of tonight’s episode of Dynamite, Matt Hardy defeated Sammy Guevara.

– In a preview of women’s matches at Double Or Nothing, Britt Baker & Nyla Rose defeated the team of Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida.

– After being absent from AEW programming for weeks, Hangman Page and The Young Bucks returned to help out Kenny Omega as he was being attacked by Chris Jericho.

– Chuck Taylor and Trent are walking around Daily’s Place like mad men.
