The reactions to ‘Black Adam’ are pouring in.
Black Adam, which stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is set to release in theaters around the world this Friday, October 21. The latest film in the DC Extended Universe has been highly anticipated for quite some time, as the movie was first announced back in 2014.
Currently, ‘Black Adam’ is a film that is dividing critics around the globe. Check out some of the early reactions below:
#BlackAdam was way better than I thought it would be. I absolutely loved every fight scene and the music choices that went with them. CGI was a little choppy in some scenes but better than a lot of other films this year. Definitely check it out

Had to go through metal detectors for the Black Adam NY screening. Pity it’s bad – no emotional depth, zero sense of peril for the main character and dull CGI battles. #BlackAdam pic.twitter.com/gUjxHy1oUO

#BlackAdam is a MASSIVE DC outing. The action is brutal, and Dwayne Johnson delivers on his promise of shifting the DCEU in a different direction. The story itself is up and down, as certain scenes don’t pack the intended punch… Although there are moments that fans will LOVE. pic.twitter.com/0TTwyiC2fS

DC continues its trend of introducing great characters in subpar superhero movies. My review of #BlackAdam — which showcases an awesome Dwayne Johnson, a mid-credits sequence we’ve all been waiting yrs for, and… unfortunately, not much else. https://t.co/BF4sNp8jDc

#BlackAdam is DC’s most action-packed film yet, and becomes one of Dwayne Johnson’s most defining roles to date.

#BlackAdam understands — and reveres — its main character and what audiences want from him/the genre, blending those two ideals into basically the perfectly balanced superhero movie with its combination of action, humor, heart, and badassery.
Of course @TheRock pulled it off. https://t.co/rPLYocao08

#BlackAdam has some of the best action in DCEU. @TheRock is fantastic as Black Adam and I can’t wait to see more of him in more movies. Get ready for Dr. Fate and Hawkman to steal all the scenes. pic.twitter.com/hZnWQAFzAB

We can tweet about #BlackAdam
I didn’t like it. The script is ridiculous. The JSA members don’t get much development at all. The humor isn’t just bad, it’s CRINGE. I liked Rock a lot, and want him in a much better film. Last 30 minutes are a CGI assault. Wasn’t for me… pic.twitter.com/n9qSQTWhsI

Expanding on my #BlackAdam thoughts:
While the movie did follow a formulaic approach that most comic book films do, I thought the charisma and chemistry between the main three (Adam, Hawk, Fate) really elevated the story and/or stakes. Fate especially. (1/5) https://t.co/YfKe3QwWcB

BLACK ADAM was surprisingly very, very good. With massive visuals & hardcore action. As a DC fan, I’m quite happy with how this film turned out. Dwayne Johnson rocked this role like it’s kismet.
And yes, you definitely want to stay for the post credit.#BlackAdam #DwayneJohnson pic.twitter.com/zeK70Pxg28— The Exorcism of Rama’s Screen ——– (@RamasScreen) October 17, 2022
After over a decade, #BlackAdam is here and it kicks ass! A visual spectacle from start to finish, I was never bored. @TheRock was born to play this character and the supporting cast, especially @PierceBrosnan, deliver. This is one of DC’s coolest movies and I want more ASAP! pic.twitter.com/NHeBaua6r1

It’s not without its issues, but #BlackAdam is a kick-ass movie that’ll have fans grinning from ear to ear. This is one of DC’s coolest movies and I hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of @TheRock as Black Adam and the JSA.

Pierce Brosnan kills it as Doctor Fate. He steals scenes. Charismatic as ever.
Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman leaves a lot of meat on the bone for future stories to dig deeper into. His action scenes are terrific.#BlackAdam relies on action, lands some humor, and it’s bad-ass. pic.twitter.com/zYEdqIY7zO

There isn’t a single character in #BLACKADAM that doesn’t feel like a cheap photocopy of one from Gotham or the MCU and not a single beat that doesn’t feel like it hasn’t been audience-tested within an inch of its life. Our review: https://t.co/qgWnyvwtyc pic.twitter.com/Lqmclszgrt

“Black Adam,” with Dwayne Johnson making his big-screen superhero debut, isn’t bad, writes AP’s critic. Johnson is a natural in the title role, and there are pockets of humor that DC has not always done well.#BlackAdam opens Friday in movie theaters. https://t.co/RJY51AD98Q
