Cody Said He Was Supposed To Win 2012 Money In The Bank Match
Cody was never able to become Mr. Money In The Bank during his time with WWE, but revealed that he was supposed to have won the match one year.
Answering a fan remark on Twitter, Cody said he was supposed to win a Money In The Bank that was supposed to take place in 2012 where the winner would have won a briefcase for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cody said he was supposed to be the winner, but then a decision was made hours before the match to have someone else win it.
That match, which also featured Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Tensai and Tyson Kidd, was won by Dolph Ziggler, who became World Heavyweight Champion the following year by cashing in on Alberto Del Rio.
2012 was the year I was winning it, and that changed hours before showtime. One of those “unanswered prayers” moments though.
That hardship shaped the prickly psycho I’ve become today ha. Another good memory. https://t.co/nOIDUhMtyK

Cody also spoke highly of another big ladder match he was in, the one for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31, which was won by Daniel Bryan.
Special match. Just grouped the hungriest guys into a multi-man and see what happens. It was an honor to be a part of this, DB gave us all quite a rub here. Good memory. https://t.co/DISgRZ3fnh
