Cody Rhodes: ‘If You Have A Problem With A Gay Man Receiving A Title Shot, You Can Kiss My Ass’
Cody Rhodes makes his stance on homophobia crystal clear.
On the July 15 episode of AEW Dynamite dubbed the 2020 Fight For The Fallen special, Cody Rhodes will defend his TNT Championship against Sonny Kiss. Sonny, for those unaware, is gender-fluid and although Sonny wrestles men in AEW, Sonny has always been very open about his sexuality, gender, and pronoun comfortably.
AEW has made it a mission of theirs to be inclusive. Nyla Rose, the second-ever AEW Women’s Champion, is transgender. AEW has always made it clear that they want to be a safe space for all involved.
In that spirit, Cody Rhodes took some time to reply to a fan on Twitter who sent a very visceral tweet to Cody, asking why Cody would even defend the championship against Sonny Kiss in the first place. Cody’s response was very to the point, if you have a problem with a gay man challenging for Championship, then you can kiss Cody’s ass.
This is terrible. And you’re not worth the signal boost.
But I’ll make this clear to fans worldwide.
If you have a problem with a gay man receiving a title shot, you can kiss my ass.
I’m proud to share the ring with Sonny. https://t.co/ZNkTZ29rRb
