Cody Rhodes Discusses Meeting Several Different Impact Bosses
Cody Rhodes made a major impression last weekend at New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 special in his title match with Okada, but it doesn't look like he'll be back in Impact/GFW any time soon.
Rhodes spoke to Sam Roberts recently and discussed his relationship with Impact. While Cody noted that he had fun, he also mentioned meeting several different bosses during his abbreviated tenure in the company.
“When it comes to Impact, I usually stick to myself as far as I just try to bring what I do everywhere just to the Impact scene. It's hard to get on board with set, ‘this time, this reboot is better than the last reboot’. When I met Dixie Carter, I loved Dixie Carter! When I met Billy (Corgan), I loved Billy! When I met Jeff (Jarrett), I loved Jeff. Only so many times can you hear, ‘we’re marching on everybody. So I’m like, ‘it’s a fun show, it’s on Pop TV, and I just try to be a part of that.’ I currently have no more dates with Impact Wrestling,” said Rhodes.
Cody turned heads after leaving WWE by working for several different companies, including ROH, NJPW, Impact, EVOLVE, WCPW, PWG, House of Hardcore, among others. He would go on to capture the ROH World Championship last month.
