Cody Rhodes Announces 2023 Men’s NXT Breakout And Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournaments
Cody Rhodes came bearing announcements on the October 10 episode of WWE NXT.
Cody Rhodes kicked off the October 10 episode of WWE NXT with three major announcements.
Cody announced the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament in the past has given birth to teams like DIY and provided teams like MSK with a debut. In the past, there has been both a men’s and women’s tournament. It was not clarified which version of the tournament would be returning first.
Currently, there’s an ongoing NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Cody Rhodes announced that once that tournament has reached its conclusion, NXT will host a Men’s Breakout Tournament. No participants have been named as of yet.

The final announcement from Cody Rhodes revealed that he would be the guest general manager for the evening. His first act for the evening was to make an NXT Championship match between Ilja Dragunov and Dominik Mysterio. As an added surprise, LA Knight will serve as the special guest referee for the evening’s main event.
