“The American Nightmare” Cody has had himself quite the 2018. He has challenged for the ROH World Championship, the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, captured the NWA Worlds Heavyweight and IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Titles, presented he and The Young Bucks’ self-financed ‘All In’ event and now the three of them along with The Elite have separated away from Bullet Club and are no longer associated with that group.
In what has been a fast-paced past few months for Cody, he has put some miles on his body and recently on Twitter he noted that while on the Ring Of Honor Global Wars tour he was walking from one side of the ring to the other teasing a t-shirt toss to the fans and suddenly heard a pop in his knee. Cody closed his tweet by noting that he hopes it is just his meniscus and he’ll be all set to continue on the tour.
*UPDATE*
Cody sent out the following tweet and noted that he will not be able to defend the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship against Beretta in Toronto and he will be undergoing an MRI soon.
Next month Cody is reportedly set to challenge Jay Lethal for the ROH World Championship at ‘Final Battle’. The full match card was released by way of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and to take a look at the card, click here.
