Cody Defends Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc Number One Contender Bout, Says Quality Of Wins Matters
Cody defends AEW Dynamite bout.
On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc will clash in a one-on-one bout to determine who will challenge Chris Jericho for the AEW World Title on the Oct. 16 episode of the program. Some fans questioned the decision, noting that Allin only had one non-televised victory and Havoc’s only win came in a triple threat match against a winless Joey Janela.
Taking to social media, AEW co-executive vice president Cody Rhodes defended the booking.
Quality of wins plays a factor. Not unlike college football. Jimmy beat 2 other major players in the @CrackerBarrel Clash and…
Darby went the distance with me and defeated a legend in Cima. (That match to be featured on “AEW: DARK” this Tuesday. Hosted by @tonyschiavone24 ) https://t.co/YQd7ZyqFlJ

Not a backtrack. Not quality of matches. “Quality of wins”. Similar to the AP poll. Per example…a team in the NCAA with a very tough schedule(ala the SEC) versus a team with a softer schedule. That factors as you come to a ranking. We are approaching records being public/weekly
