Cody Defends AEW’s Commitment To Diversity, Removes Wrestler From AEW Dark For Past Hateful Tweets
In the middle of these trying times, Cody Rhodes says AEW’s commitment to diversity has been apparent since day one and remains strong.
When responding to a fan on Twitter asking whether or not Cody Rhodes and All Elite Wrestling intend to highlight more diverse talent, Cody would respond by saying that a black man, Scorpio Sky, was one of their first champions and the company has the only black executive in wrestling, referring to his wife, Brandi Rhodes.
One of our first champions was a black man. We have the only black executive in wrestling history as part of our core infrastructure as well. Our fans are beyond valued, I’d encourage you to watch my interview from this past week where I spoke directly to the viewer at home.

Right now emotions are high. Division is encouraged and cultivated, and that’s beyond wrong.
My hope would be that people band together and love one another. The wrestling community is smaller than the global community, but a community nonetheless. https://t.co/ts4Sfamai0

Cody would then respond to a fan saying that he should use his platform to tweet something encouraging by saying that they are exploring merchandise options in order to raise profit for charitable causes during this time.
Scroll down into my tweets friend. There’s 2 functional links supporting said very valuable cause. You can effect change with either.
(Not sure atm, but there’s hopefully some merchandising/full charity elements I can do…not unlike the Covid shirts and the family relief fund)

In another moment of Cody defending their commitment to diversity and the removal of hatred from AEW, wrestler Clutch Adams had his match removed from AEW Dark due to past homophobic tweets by the wrestler resurfacing.
His match has been removed.
