Cody: Cain Velasquez Should Not Have Been That Good, But He Was
Cody has high praise for Cain Velasquez.
This past weekend at AAA TripleMania XXVII, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez made his professional wrestling debut, teaming with Psycho Clown & Cody in a trios bout against Texano Jr., Killer Kross, & Taurus. Velasquez was impressive in the bout, pulling off a hurricanrana and a springboard armdrag, much to the delight of the lucha crowd. Velasquez also scored the victory for his team, submitting Texano with a kimura.
After the match, ESPN caught up with Cody and Pyscho Clown, who gave their thoughts on Velasquez’ performance.
“He did awesome. He should not have been that good. He shouldn’t have. But he was. Freak athlete,” said Cody.
When asked about the possibility of Cain joining All Elite Wrestling, Cody answered, “Maybe,” but quickly mentioned that he would like to bring Psycho Clown to the promotion first.
