WWE Hires Ace Steel As Performance Center Coach

Ace Steel has a new domain.

As it was first reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has hired the former trainer of CM Punk and Colt Cabana, Ace Steel as a coach at the WWE Performance Center.

No stranger to WWE, on the January 8, 2007 episode of Monday Night Raw, Steel portrayed Donald Trump in a comedy match against a wrestler portraying Rosie O’Donnell as the two celebrities were engaged in a war of words at the time. Steel, as Trump, would ultimately win the match. This spoof segment would lead to the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23, which would see the current President of the United States shave Vince McMahon’s head bald.

Just ten days after his portrayal of Donald Trump on Raw, Steel would sign a WWE developmental contract. He would be released from his contract on February 4, 2008.

Steel was also involved in the new WWE comedy movie coming to Netflix, The Main Event. According to reports from PWInsider, Steel, whose real name is Chris Guy, impressed those within WWE during his time on set. Guy was tasked with helping to produce and put together in-ring scenes for the upcoming Netflix film which recently wrapped up production in Vancouver.

Ace Steel joins former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Lance Storm as a new Performance Center hire.
