Madison Square Garden commemorated CM Punk’s return.
On December 26, CM Punk had his first match in a WWE ring since 2014 at the WWE Live Holiday Tour event, which was held at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. He defeated Dominik Mysterio in front of a sold-out crowd at the legendary arena.
The next day, WWE shared a clip in which Punk received a custom gift from his “friends” at Madison Square Garden. Punk noted that he was awful at gifts, but this one was a big deal. The gift was contained in a light blue box, and it turned out to be an engraved plaque that had, “Welcome home, CM Punk. First WWE match in a decade. Sold-out Madison Square Garden” on” written on it.
Punk stated that the gift meant the world to him, and he joked that he thought it was going to be a key to a secret bathroom.
