CM Punk Once Again States He Won’t Be At AEW All Out, Isn’t Calling WWE
CM Punk discusses his immediate future in wrestling.
Starrcast III was capped off on Saturday with CM Punk gracing the stage for a special interview. As expected, Punk was asked about potentially showing up at AEW All Out. Punk once again remained firm on his stance that he won’t be making a surprise appearance at the event despite the rumors and speculation.
“I’m not gonna be anywhere. [Punk’s wife AJ Lee] was in Los Angeles for a week, week and a half. I haven’t seen her in a minute, so I’m gonna be hanging out with her tonight. I hate to burst anybody’s bubble. Sorry,” said Punk.
There was a report on Aug. 22 that Punk’s agent reached out to Fox about Punk potentially appearing on the upcoming WWE studio show, which will air on Fox Sports 1. Punk didn’t directly address the report, but did say he is open to talking to any company if they call him.
“I wouldn’t not talk to [WWE]. I’m over [what happened when I left]. I’ve been over it for a very long time. It’s in the past. I’m 40 years old and I try to be as zen and as wise as I can be. My life has taught me a lot of times that I would be confrontational when there was no need to be confrontational. I’ll have a conversation with anybody, but I’m not calling them. But if they’re like, ‘Oh hey.’ I’ll talk to you and see what you have to say. But it better be good.”
During the interview, Punk found out that WWE superstars are now getting time off to take vacations, which is something he asked for years ago in order to save himself from being burned out and heal up injuries. Punk joked that he would sign a full-time contract with WWE just to say, “I need some time off.”
Punk also stated that he doesn’t miss wrestling as he feels he had a “pretty good career” and is currently out of the loop on the current landscape of wrestling.
