CM Punk continues to recover from a torn triceps, and while he was unable to compete on the Raw after WrestleMania, he still appeared on the show. Punk interfered as he distracted Drew McIntyre in the main event of the April 8 episode and helped Jey Uso score the win in a four-way match to earn a world title shot.
After the show went off the air, Punk addressed the crowd and said they would send the fans home happy. Jey noted that he wanted to sign his shoes and throw them into the crowd. Punk highlighted how he used to live in Philadelphia, and the city meant a lot to him. He stated that there were over 20,000 fans in attendance, as Philadelphia clearly loved wrestling.
Punk gave Paul Heyman a shout-out and thanked Philadelphia for welcoming him with open arms. He then thanked the fans and promised that he would have his boots on the next time he was back. Punk and Uso then signed Jey’s shoes and threw them into the crowd.
