CM Punk: This Is About Everybody That Didn’t Forget And Chanted My Name For Ten Years
CM Punk is doing it for the fans.
CM Punk returned to WWE after nearly a decade away at WWE Survivor Series, and in his return promo on WWE Raw, stated that he was “home.” When Punk left WWE in 2014 the night after the Royal Rumble, fans continued to chant his name, oftentimes to show their displeasure with the product.
Punk returned to wrestling in 2021 when he signed with AEW, but the relationship was short-lived as he was suspended for a backstage altercation in 2022 and fired for another backstage altercation in 2023.
Appearing on Instagram Live for Elite Comics and Kulture City, Punk said this isn’t about him.
“This isn’t about me, this is about us. This about everybody that is behind me. That for ten years didn’t forget, chanted my name. I’m going to put the boots back on for all of ya’ll. We’re going to go on this journey together,” he said.
On Monday’s WWE Raw, Punk signed to be part of the Raw brand and entered the 2024 Royal Rumble.
