Clark Connors wants to prove himself in 2022.

Connors came up through the NJPW LA Dojo and worked as a Young Lion alongside Karl Fredericks and Alex Coughlin. They gradually climbed up the ladder together, and Connors eventually graduated from being a Young Lion. He has been featured on NJPW STRONG, and he also competed at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. There, he came up short in the four-way match that determined the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion.

Speaking on The Shining Wizards Wrestling Podcast, Connors was asked to name his goals for 2023. He responded by emphasizing that he wants to win titles and cement his status as a prominent player in the wrestling world. Connors made it clear that he’s looking forward to showing people what he can do. He also joked that he wants to be named Toykyo Sports MVP.

“Goals in 2023, I wanna [win] a title. To me, it’s important at this point for the evolution of myself as a wrestler to get to the point where I’m winning titles. I want to get at least two at least four-star rated matches by Dave Meltzer. I would love that so much. I wanna be voted Tokyo Sports MVP, that would be cool.[Laughs] No, my main goal is the Clark Connors name, by the end of this year, to be in the pantheon of, ‘Okay, this is one of the top guys in this industry.’ I want my name to be on people’s mouths and I want them to understand this guy’s a player in the game, and I get to actually show people how good I am. I’m really excited to do that,” Connors said.

In the same interview, Connors discussed Karl Fredericks reportedly signing with WWE. Check out his comments here.
