CJ Perry missed her scheduled appearance for CMLL on December 15, and she was also absent from the December 16 episode of AEW Collision. She revealed that she was in the hospital due to an infection, which spread up her arm and later required surgery. Perry explained that the infection came from a splinter, and she was ultimately sent home. She appeared at AEW Worlds End on December 30 and somewhat turned on Andrade El Idolo and cost him his match against Miro.
In a post on Instagram, Perry stated that she was on her way to the hospital, as complications happen with healing and infection possibly coming back. She noted that she would find out soon whether she would need a second surgery.
