Christopher Daniels Says ‘Everything Is Going Fine’ In AEW

Christopher Daniels weighs in on the backstage environment in AEW.

AEW reportedly held a backstage talent meeting on Wednesday, August 24 to discuss multiple topics including working as a team, the lines of communication, and who the talent can talk to. The talent meeting was held in light of recent reports regarding CM Punk calling out Hangman Page in an unplanned part of his promo on Dynamite. Before and after the talent meeting, new reports came out regarding Thunder Rosa’s heat with Britt Baker and an altercation between Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara.

Christopher Daniels was in Germany for Gamescom, which began on August 24 and ended on August 28, and was asked about the reports regarding the backstage environment in AEW.

“The wrestling internet sees what they see from the outside. Everything is going fine in AEW. We just promoted Tony Schiavone, QT Marshall, Sonjay Dutt, and Pat Buck. We’re tightening the ship and trying to get everything in a good place for us. Right now, we have a successful television show. Dynamite is doing very well for TBS, Rampage is doing well for TNT. Hopefully, the international fans are enjoying it as well. Everything is going very well for us, we’re very happy for the success we’ve had and we’re going upwards and onwards,” he told Headlock Wrestling Podcast.

Schiavone was promoted to Senior Producer and Special Advisor to Talent in AEW and he commented on the backstage mood, saying things were not as bad as the internet made them out to be. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

Daniels wrestled at the AEW Gamescom event and hopes to continue his in-ring career with AEW, but he’ll continue to help out backstage.

“I hope I can do more in the ring, but either way, I’m going to be doing a lot for AEW, whether it’s in the ring or behind the scenes,” he said.

Daniels wrestled at AEW Rampage Fyter Fest week two on July 22, losing to Jay Lethal.
