Christian Cage Lays Down AEW TNT Title Rules, Buries Toronto Maple Leafs And References Cody Rhodes
Christian Cage addresses the AEW TNT Championship.
On the premiere episode of AEW Collision, Luchasaurus defeated Wardlow to win the AEW TNT Championship. Christian Cage immediately grabbed the title and celebrated as if he won.
On the June 24 episode of AEW Collision, Christian stated that there will be no more open challenges for the AEW TNT Title and that competitors will have to earn a shot at the belt. He also stated that the belt wouldn’t be some vanity project like the guy who used to ride the “roads” in AEW, referencing Cody Rhodes, who was the first-ever AEW TNT Champion. Christian said he would make the title the most prestigious title in AEW.
During his promo, Christian also referenced the Toronto Maple Leafs, who finally won a playoff round, but lost in the second round because they choked like they always do. He mentioned the Toronto Raptors winning a championship in 2019, but noted that Kawhi Leonard, who is a friend of Christian’s according to Christian, left Toronto just like he did.
‘The Conquering Hero’ Christian has some harsh words for his hometown of Toronto.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have not won a championship since 1967.
It only took Christian Cage one episode of AEW Collision to win a title.
