Chris Jericho Would Welcome Dean Ambrose To AEW; Says He Has Not Contacted Him
Chris Jericho discusses Dean Ambrose potentially joining AEW.
With Dean Ambrose officially joining Chris Jericho in the WWE Alumni section on their website, many have speculated that Ambrose could be joining Jericho in AEW next. There have been no reports tying Ambrose to AEW, but anytime a WWE superstar is reportedly unhappy or leaving WWE, they are immediately linked to AEW by many online.
Speaking to Express, Jericho commented on Ambrose potentially coming to AEW.
“I have not [contacted Ambrose],” stated Jericho. “Only Dean knows what Dean wants. It’s a grind, and not just the physical aspect of it but there’s a mental standpoint. It’s hard to work matches sometimes four days a week, five days a week. Sometimes you need a break from the business. I’m sure if he wants to come to AEW he’d be more than welcome. He’s a star, he’s a great performer, he’s a great character. I think he would mix right in with those guys. When you get a great performer, it doesn’t matter what company they were before because they’re in a top level.”
Ambrose worked his last scheduled match in WWE this past Sunday at a live event in Moline, Illinois, teaming with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in The Shield’s “Final Chapter.” AEW will hold their first event as a company, Double or Nothing, on May 25 from Las Vegas
