Chris Jericho Says Taynara Conti ‘Kicks Ass’ As Part Of The ‘Deadly Draw’ Tournament, Reveals Teams

Chris Jericho says fans of All Elite Wrestling have a lot to look forward to when it comes to the upcoming “Deadly Draw” Women’s Tag Team Tournament.

On the July 29th episode of AEW Dynamite Ariane Andrew, formerly known as Cameron in WWE, announced that she would be competing in the tournament and paired up with Nyla Rose. On his most recent Saturday Night Special Q&A, Chris Jericho provided a little more details on the match which has already been taped including the involvement of a recently released WWE Superstar.

Chris Jericho revealed that the team of Nyla Rose and Ariane Andrew will face the team of Anna Jay, who has been seen recently with The Dark Order, and Tay Conti, the former Taynara in NXT.

Chris Jericho said he was very impressed by all for women in this match and he went into the match not knowing what to expect given the relative inexperience of three of the competitors and potential ring rust for Ariane. Jericho would say that all four women really kicked ass and made him proud to be associated with AEW.

“I didn’t know what to expect, but I watched this match. All four girls just kick ass. It was really good. Was way, way bigger, way better than I expected, and not saying that in any negative way, they really impressed me, all of them, and hopefully will get to see more of them because it was really cool,” said Le Champion.

Chris Jericho would go on to also reveal that Ivelisse and Diamante, who made their Dynamite debuts two weeks ago against one another, will also be a tag team as well as The Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie.

Taynara was one of the many names released on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. In her first video since leaving WWE she would reveal that she was happy because she wanted a chance to branch out and gain more experience in the riNG. You can check out her full comments on her release at this link.

The Deadly Draw tournament will take place every Monday Night on YouTube. Learn more about the tournament at this link.
