Chris Jericho Planned On Biting Brock Lesnar’s Nose Had They Fought Backstage At SummerSlam
Y2J recounts his altercation with Brock Lesnar from 2016.
The main event of the 2016 SummerSlam pay-per-view saw Brock Lesnar defeat Randy Orton via stoppage after Lesnar delivered elbows to Orton which opened “The Viper” up and caused Randy to bleed profusely in the ring. The story has been confirmed by Chris Jericho himself that he had an altercation with Brock Lesnar after the match because he questioned if Brock was supposed to open up Orton the way that he did. Brock and Jericho got into a shouting match and were face-to-face until they were separated by those in the vicinity.
Chris Jericho recounted that altercation during an appearance on Sam Roberts and Jim Norton’s Radio Show and said that if he and Lesnar would’ve fought, he would have attempted to bite Brock’s nose off.
“Yeah he did some stuff that I felt he shouldn’t have done and no one would tell me if it was supposed to happen or not and then he started yelling at me — I was like, ‘F*ck this guy’. I started yelling back. I remember I was face-to-face with him and I just remember looking at him [and thinking], ‘He’s got the biggest, ugliest nose’. Like this f*cking giant nose, and I’m like, if he does anything, I’m just gonna bite his nose off.” Jericho said. “He’s gonna kill me either way, so he’s gonna kill me with no nose. I don’t care.”
Chris Jericho said he knew he was aware of Brock’s capabilities but as a man he was not going to back down. Jericho added that whenever it comes to a fight, as long as the other person has knees and/or testicles, he has a chance to win.
“Absolutely [Knowing that someone of Lesnar’s stature could hurt him]. That’s when you lose — I guess your common sense, but that’s the way for me and I’m not saying I’m a tough guy but there’s a certain level as a man where you start saying, ‘I don’t care how big you are, I have to do something’, and if I go down, I go down swinging. Also, I’m not going in there with a defeatist attitude. It’s like whatever happens happens but I have my game plan and we’ll see what goes down.” Jericho explained. “This has always been my motto for fighting: Everyone’s got nuts, and everyone’s got knees. I don’t care how big you are. If I can kick you in the nuts or if I can kick your f*cking knees in, I’ll have a chance.”
The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion closed by saying that he has respect for Brock Lesnar. Jericho said that they had a disagreement and their issue is buried and he does not think of Brock in a negative manner.
“I also wanna say that I respect Brock Lesnar and what he has done with the business and how he has really made a lot of money minimally. So I wanna say that. I don’t think he’s a dick. We just had an issue and it’s done.” He concluded.
Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar’s issues are in the past and waiting in the future for Jericho is a match against Kenny Omega at AEW’s ‘Double Or Nothing’ show on May 25th.
