Chris Jericho To Defend AEW Title Against Cody Rhodes At Full Gear

Chris Jericho’s first AEW World Championship defense is set.

In an article written by Sports Illustrated and confirmed by All Elite Wrestling, Jericho will defend his title against Cody Rhodes at the upcoming “Full Gear” pay-per-view. The show will take place at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore on November 9.

Jericho won the inaugural AEW title at “All Out” on August 31 when he defeated “Hangman” Page in the show’s main event. That win was followed by a roller coaster of events that saw his title belt go missing with police in Tallahassee, Florida eventually retrieving it after someone found in on the side of the road.

Cody is undefeated in singles competition in All Elite Wrestling, first beating his brother Dustin Rhodes at “Double or Nothing” this past May and then wrestling Darby Allin to a time limit draw at “Fyter Fest” in June. Cody’s last match was a win against Shawn Spears at “All Out.”

Not much else is known about the show aside from the only other match being confirmed for the event is Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley. That match was originally set to take place at “All Out,” but Moxley had to withdraw from the show after it was revealed that he had a MRSA infection on his elbow.

Fightful will have live coverage of “Full Gear.”
