Chris Jericho Beats Down Tetsuya Naito At Today’s NJPW ‘Road To Tokyo Dome’ Show

One last time before their showdown.

“The Ayatollah Of Rock N Rolla” Chris Jericho has been reigning as IWGP Intercontinental Champion since June which was when he defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon leader Tetsuya Naito at NJPW’s ‘Dominion’ event. Coming out of that event, Jericho claimed that he wants to be the Brock Lesnar of Japan and will continue running rough shot over the roster with the Intercontinental Title as long as he wants to.

Jericho has had one title defense thus far and that was against EVIL at ‘Power Struggle’.

Last night at the Wrestle Kingdom 13 press conference, Y2J finally showed face in Japan after swearing for weeks that Naito would never get another shot at the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

Not to anyone’s surprise, a brawl broke out and but Jericho was the more fired up out of the two while Naito calmly taunted Y2J. Jericho yelled out that he would get back at Naito and he did just that on the final night of ‘Road To Tokyo Dome’ action before Wrestle Kingdom 13 as Jericho showed up after a six-man tag match featuring Naito, BUSHI and Shingo Tagaki taking on El Desperado, Taichi and Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

Jericho put a beat down on the BUSHI and Shingo and gave Naito the worst of it and sent his Wrestle Kingdom 13 opponent a statement heading into their showdown on January 4th.

There will be live coverage here on Fightful of Wrestle Kingdom 13 and a post-show podcast. Head over to our “events” page to get a look at the updated match card.
