Chelsea Green Wins NWA Women’s Invitational Cup At EmPowerrr, Will Challenge Kamille At NWA 73
The Women’s Championship match for NWA 73 is set.
At NWA EmPowerrr, the Women’s Invitational Cup was awarded for the first time. The winner of the match would earn an NWA Women’s Championship match at NWA 73 on Sunday, August 29. Ten contestants would come out at regular intervals, with eliminations being made via pinfall or submission. The last woman standing would win the inaugural trophy and earn the title opportunity.
Earlier in the night, Kamille successfully defended the title by defeating AEW’s “Legit” Leyla Hirsch.
Chelsea Green and Kiera Hogan started the match, but it wasn’t until Jennacide pinned Bianca Carelli did we see our first elimination. The remaining competitors were eliminated in the following order: Thunder Kitty (by Jennacide), Lady Frost (by Debbie Malenko), Debbie Malenko (by Kiera Hogan), Jennacide (by Jamie Senegal), Jamie Senegal (by Masha Slamovich), Kiera Hogan (by Masha Slamovich), Masha Slamovich (by Tootie Lynn).
The final two were Chelsea Green, who entered first, and Tootie Lynn, who entered last. In front of her hometown crowd, Tootie went for a series of quick covers on Green but couldn’t put the former Knockouts Champion away. Chelsea would eventually connect with the Unprettier for the pin and win.
All of the women who were involved with EmPowerrr then came out to celebrate the event as Green was presented with her trophy. Chelsea will have just one day to rest up before she takes on Kamille for the NWA Women’s Championship at NWA 73 tomorrow night.
