Chelsea Green Says She Is Excited To Not Focus On WWE, Details Some Of Her Future Plans

Chelsea Green is excited for what the future holds.

On April 15, Green – along with 9 others – were released by WWE after nearly three years with the company. Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the Canadian Superstar isn’t ruling out a potential return to WWE somewhere down the line, noting that she has a good relationship with the people there. That said, Green is excited to start focusing on other promotions. Here is what she said:

“Yeah totally! I mean, never say never for anything for any opportunity you know, and I didn’t go out guns-a-blazing with WWE. I have a relationship with all those people that the bridge is not burnt. I think I have a good relationship with all those people. I’m really excited to not focus on WWE and to focus on the other companies that I know I can be a star at, but never say never for anything in the future.”

In addition to wrestling, Chelsea also has projects outside of the ring that she wants to begin doing again. Such activities include making YouTube videos and podcasting. Green said that she put the idea of her doing a podcast out into the world so that she could hold herself accountable and has every intention of sitting down and figuring out a way to make it happen. She said the following:

“Yeah! All those things I’m gonna start doing again. I was doing YouTube for a little bit during the pandemic and I had a lot of fun with it. I need to educate myself a little more in editing and things like that. So I will be doing that and I’m gonna get a podcast up and running here soon.”

Furthermore, Green shared that she was offered a movie role last year, but production was shut down due to the pandemic. Whether or not WWE would have allowed her to do it is another question entirely. Now that that’s no longer a concern, she let them know that she’s in if there still a role to play. Here is what she said:

“I was offered a movie role last year for an awesome movie that’s shooting in Canada that had to shut down because of the pandemic. So there, is a blessing in disguise! That’s something that may not have been allowed to do and now I was able to send them a text and say, “I’m a hundred percent in!”, and there is nothing stopping me.”

Prior to signing with WWE, Chelsea Green had worked for IMPACT Wrestling, Lucha Underground, and at ALL IN, where she faced Britt Baker, Madison Rayne, and Tessa Blanchard in a Four Corner Survival Match.

Green was originally scheduled to be called up to WWE’s main roster after firing Robert Stone in May 2020, but her call-up was delayed. She would eventually make her SmackDown debut on November 13, 2020, but suffered a broken wrist in the match.

Green reportedly signed a new three-year deal prior to her release and had been cleared to return to action. She was backstage at the March 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, but never returned to television.
