Charlotte Flair Says She And Becky Lynch’s Goal Was To Have The Best Feud Of 2018
Charlotte and Becky were determined to be the talk of the wrestling world.
Dating back to the 2018 SummerSlam pay-per-view, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have been at odds and the two former SmackDown Women’s Champions’ rivalry is now as intense as it was in 2018. Last Monday on RAW, Vince McMahon announced that Becky Lynch was “suspended” and her suspension was going to end five days after WrestleMania 35 which takes “The Man” out of her RAW Women’s Title match against Ronda Rousey. Vince McMahon then announced that in Becky’s place will be Charlotte Flair.
“The Queen” and “The Man” are consistently trying to one-up each other but also have the same goal in mind and that is to be the talk of the wrestling world. Charlotte Flair joined the ‘Heel Turn’ podcast on Sports Radio 610 to promote ‘Elimination Chamber’ and she shared that when she and Becky began feuding, they mutually agreed that they were going to have the best feud of 2018 and Charlotte feels that they accomplished that.
“When Becky and I started our rivalry, we both looked at each other and just said, ‘We’re gonna have the best match of the year. We’re gonna have the best feud of the year’, and that’s what we said to each other going in. That was our goal, and we did it.” Flair expressed. “We also wanted to set the bar for the women at Evolution. Going into an all-women’s pay-per-view, you wanna stand out as the best and then what’s next is… well you have the [Women’s] Tag Team Championships. First-ever, on Sunday at Elimination Chamber inside the Chamber. So I’m excited to see which team is going to be the first-ever. I never thought that would happen, so I think that’s great and obviously I think the pentacle is main eventing WrestleMania.”
Charlotte Flair is currently slated to face Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35 and to stay up to date with the WrestleMania match card, head over to Fightful’s “events” page.
