Charlotte Flair On Possible Ronda Rousey Match: “Get In Line, Sister”

Charlotte Flair would welcome a match with Ronda Rousey, but she's focused winning back the Raw Women's Championship.

Flair is seeking her fifth women's championship at Wrestlemania 33 when she enters a fatal four-way. In an interview with Sam Roberts and Jim Norton, Flair was asked about facing former UFC champion Rousey in a professional wrestling match. Flair did not completely reject the idea, but said she has her eyes set on her Wrestlemania match and that a hypothetical bout with Rousey would have to wait.

“I’d say get in line sister," said Flair "I look at it two ways. I think it would be an awesome opportunity, but right now the Women’s Championship is my focus. Ronda made great leaps and strides or whatever you want, basically put UFC, women’s UFC, on the map. So when I’m out of the title picture I’d say like yeah it’d be a fun gimmick match, or see what we can do. I’d rather be fighting for the Women’s Championship," said Flair.

Rousey has not appeared at WWE since Wrestlemania 31 but recently suffered two staggering losses in UFC. No official word has been given on Rousey's mixed-martial-arts career, but her boss Dana White wonders if she'll ever fight again. She has expressed interest in professional wrestling including videos of matches with her training partner and independent wrestler Shayna Baszler.

In the rest of the interview, Flair discussed her pay-per-view winning streak and having her dad Ric Flair at ringside.
