Charlotte Flair Doesn’t Think Her Role Will Change Because Of Eric Bischoff & Paul Heyman’s New Roles
Charlotte Flair is excited about the change of scenery but does not think it’ll alter her role.
Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff’s names have been in the midst of conversations concerning the WWE, stemming from the announcement that Heyman will be assuming the role as Executive Director of TV for Monday Night RAW and Eric Bischoff will be taking on the same role for SmackDown Live. Following last night’s edition of RAW, Paul Heyman received a great deal of praise from those who viewed the show.
The former 10-time WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is excited about Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff’s new positions but she feels their new roles will not affect her role. Charlotte was interviewed by ‘My San Antonio’ ahead of tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live at the AT&T Center and gave her thoughts about the new Executive Directors of WWE TV:
“I think it is great and they are both very talented men with creative minds, but we have so many writers and people that work with us on creative. It is exciting, but it doesn’t change my role,” Flair said. “However, having two people that have been a part of the industry for so long and seen the changes and been with different companies and back, I think that it adds a lot to them being really good in that role and helps bring new stories.”
The current SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Bayley is set to defend her title against Alexa Bliss at WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Over the weekend at WWE’s house shows in the U.S., Charlotte wrestled Bayley for the title and although Charlotte is not next in line for a title shot, she is keeping her eye on whoever is holding the gold.
“I wrestled her [Bayley] all weekend in Jackson, Miss., and Monroe, La. She still has my title and that is that,” Flair said. “Alexa Bliss is the number one contender, but obviously I got title matches all weekend just because I said I wanted a title match so it doesn’t change anything for me. When I want one, I go to management and say, ‘I want a title match’ and then I get a title match.”
