CFO$ Says Triple H Gives Them Creative Space
CFO$ says working with NXT and Triple has helped them develop.
John Alicastro and Mike Lauri have been working with WWE since 2012 as the musical duo CFO$. During that time they have created entrance themes for many superstars however they spent their formative years creating themes for NXT wrestlers. In an interview on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, CFO$ discussed how NXT changed their careers. Alicastro said NXT was a big part but also Triple H gave them space while working there.
"NXT was a game changer for us as far as being creative. Triple H is amazing when it comes to the talent and what he allows us to do and gives us some space to do our own thing. He's obviously the brains behind the whole thing and everything goes through him. But, a lot of the times he'll point us in the right direction, then he gives us a fair amount of space to do our thing," said Alicastro.
In 2012 was when NXT became the developmental territory for WWE and stopped being a contest for a spot on the main roster. Lauri says CFO$ coming to WWE relatively at the same time put them on the same trajectory as NXT.
"It kind of felt we started with (NXT), when that brand started to become what it was. We were able to grow with it. We're learning as we go too," said Lauri.
Also during the interview, CFO$ discussed their overall process, how they accomplished specific themes like having Enzo Amore and Tyler Breeze record their own lyrics, and AJ Styles' reaction to his theme. The video of the interview is below.
