Cassie Lee Pitched To Be A Motivational Speaker, Vince McMahon Loved How Much She Sacrified
Cassie Lee (formerly Peyton Royce) made headlines in June when she recounted a meeting she had with Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard prior to her release.
Lee said, “I basically said to him ‘I’m sorry, I’m boring. I like to just be at home on my off days'” before joking that was probably why she lost her job.
Lost in context, many thought Cassie calling herself boring led to her release.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, she clarified what happened in the meeting with Vince and Bruce Prichard.
“I just went in there with what I wanted to present and we moved on from it so quickly. In my head, I was like, ‘How can I steer this conversation back to that’ because I thought something was there and I hadn’t explained it properly. I don’t believe that is the reason I got fired because I sat in the room with (Vince) and Bruce (Prichard) for 45 minutes tossing out ideas. What we had come up with was, I would be a motivational speaker. Vince loved how much I had sacrificed to be there and I didn’t want anything else in my life other than to work for him. He loved that and was so thankful for what I had sacrificed; my family, everything in Australia, my whole life. That’s what we had come up with. Obviously, nothing ever came of it. That conversation wasn’t like a complete dud. From my perspective, it was like, ‘Damn, this is what I wanted to present and move forward with,'” she said. “There’s nothing I don’t think I could have done because I friggin’ tried everything.”
When asked about her words being taken out of context, Cassie blamed herself for stopping at the wrong point.
Elsewhere during the interview, Cassie also took the blame for the IIconics splitting. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
