Cash Wheeler Recalls Joining The Straight Edge Society At WWE Live Event

Cash Wheeler was once a member of the Straight Edge Society.

The Straight Edge Society was formed in November 2009 with CM Punk leading Doc Gallows and Serena Deeb in WWE.

During a live event in North Carolina, Cash joined the group.

“It happened on a random live event, it wasn’t even televised. They reached out and were like, ‘How long is your hair?’ ‘Not that long, I just had it cut recently.’ ‘Would you be willing to have it shaved?’ ‘When?’ ‘Tomorrow.’ They wanted me to dress up like I was in the crowd, they put me front row. [CM Punk] and Gallows do their thing, I jump up and down to try and get noticed, they come over, bring me into th ring, shave my head. Punk, I don’t blame him, didn’t remember it at all. I was a totally different person at that point, wasn’t known in wrestling, and never really talked about it because I did so many damn extra spots that at some point, I was an extra with somebody super famous that they don’t remember. Gallows remembered. When I met him, he was like, ‘I know you from somewhere, did we shave your head?’ This was years later. ‘Yeah, great memory, dude,” Cash recalled on The Sessions with Renee Paquette.

Cash continued by saying, “I send him the picture and he was like, ‘No fucking way. How have you never told me about this?’ ‘When the time was right.’ I was a member of Straight Edge Society, I was a paramedic for Mark Henry when he pulled the trucks, a cameraman when Mark Henry hit me with a chair. I was a bad boy for Cody. Cody and Randy (Orton), last man standing match on SmackDown, it was a fantastic match. I love watching both those guys anyway, so to watch that match live, next to them, and how they put it together before I had any TV experience, it was a really cool learning experience.”

After working as an extra for WWE throughout his independent career, Wheeler signed with WWE in 2014 where he formed a tag team with Dax Harwood.

The duo are currently part of AEW, working against Punk during his feud with MJF.
