Carmella Open To Doing More WWE Commentary, But Would Work With Michael Cole Instead Of Corey Graves
On the February 17 episode of WWE SmackDown, Carmella joined the commentary team of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett for the bout between Liv Morgan and Asuka.
Carmella, Liv, and Asuka were all set to compete inside the Elimination Chamber at WWE Elimination Chamber. Eventually, Raquel Rodriguez, Nikki Cross, and Natalya, the other participants in the Elimination Chamber, came to the ringside area.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Corey Graves, who is married to Carmella, noted that he got texts from Cole and people in production praising Carmella for the job she did on commentary.
“I had so much fun,” said Carmella. “I had a blast, truly. I got to be my character, but also know the point of why I was out there. I wasn’t out there to just talk about myself. I want to make fun of Asuka, Raquel, and Nikki Cross. To be honest, I think the reason why I did pretty decent at it is because I am married to you. I’m not just saying that to talk about how amazing you are, but I listen to you. When you complain about something or if you’re upset or if you’re like, ‘this works so well on commentary last week when I said this and this person did that.’ I absorb what you say and I feel because I do pay attention to you and I watch how you do things, I was able to just apply that a little bit. I’m not saying I’m going to be some amazing play-by-play or color commentator in the future, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” she said.
“If I did do it, I would have to do with Michael Cole and not you. I would divorce you over that. You’d be yelling at me, telling me how terrible I am, there is no way in hell,” she said with a laugh.
Graves is the lead color commentator on WWE Raw alongside Kevin Patrick on play-by-play.
Carmella was in action on Monday’s WWE Raw, taking on Asuka. Fans can find Fightful’s coverage of the show by clicking here.
