California Governor Gavin Newsom Says Empty Arena Sports Could Resume During The First Week Of June
Sporting events without fans could be making their way to California in the coming weeks.
During his latest press conference, California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that “sporting events, in the first week or so of June, without spectators and modifications and very prescriptive conditions, can also begin to move forward.”
Bringing back sports without fans would be part of phase three of California’s plan to re-open the economy. Allowing fans at sporting events would not happen until phase four, though Newsom cautioned that it might not happen until a COVID-19 vaccine is found.
