Calgary Hitmen Announce Second Annual Bret Hart Game
The Calgary Hitmen are continuing to honor Bret Hart.
The WWE Hall of Famer was one of the founding owners of the club and his wrestling persona served as the inspiration when naming the team. Though he hasn’t owned the club in 24 years, that distinction now belongs to the Calgary Flames, the WHL team hasn’t forgotten their roots.
Yesterday, the team announced that the second annual Bret Hart game will take place on March 5, 2022, when the Hitmen take on their provincial rivals, the Edmonton Oil Kings. The team is also partnering with PWA (Prairie Wrestling Alliance) for a post-game wrestling event for fans to attend.
The special event is also in partnership with the Prostate Cancer Center of Calgary. The Hitmen will be wearing a special Bret Hart themed jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Centre. In 2016, Hart announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but thanks to early detection and treatment was able to beat it.
The team issued the following press releases:

The Hitmen are also excited to announce the return of their partnership with the Prairie Wrestling Alliance (PWA) for Battle In The Dome II, a post-game wrestling event for fans who attend the game.
“PWA is proud to once again partner with the Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club, Calgary Prostate Centre” says PWA CEO Kurt Sorochan. “Last year’s event was a huge success raising awareness for the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre.
