The tragic news was first revealed through Bushwhacker Luke’s Facebook page, where his family had recently been providing updates on Bushwhacker Butch’s health. Bushwhacker Butch, real name Robert Miller, was hospitalized shortly after arriving to Los Angeles for WrestleMania week after quickly becoming ill. The specifics of how or why Bushwhacker Butch passed away are still unknown at this time.
Bushwhacker Butch last wrestled in 2001, as he retired after suffering a neck injury. However, his partner Bushwhacker Luke is still active in the ring to this day, as he most recently wrestled on March 11, 2023.
The Bushwhackers became a household name in tag team wrestling throughout their runs with the WWF and the NWA throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s. Together, Butch & Luke won the NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championships, the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championships, and the NWA Florida Tag Team Championships. Throughout their time together, Butch & Luke also went by other tag team names like the Sheepherders or the Kiwi Sheepherders. The duo were inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2015.
