Bully Ray Says TNA’s Downfall Was Mostly Due To Management
Bully Ray believes TNA management was a big reason for the company’s fall from grace.
At one point, the promotion was drawing millions of viewers on television with a roster that included the likes of Sting, Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Gail Kim and more. Ray, who was a part of the company for years, told Chris Van Vliet that management was to blame for many of TNA’s failures that took place over the years.
“Management. Did you see anything wrong with the talent? At TNA’s height, how many millions did they tune in each week? Company was doing well. You can’t look at that locker room from its inception, and I can say up until the day I left because I don’t know what the locker room was after I left, can’t look at that cross sections of icons like Hogan and Sting to the homegrown talent like the AJs and Joes to the homegrown teams like the Beer Moneys and Motor City Machine Guns, the legendary teams like the Team 3Ds, the Knockouts Division. Dude, you want to talk about the Women’s Revolution. The Women’s Revolution took place a long time ago before it happened in WWE and it happened in TNA with the likes of Gail Kim, Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Awesome Kong and ODB and all of the other great women that passed through there. My point is that when you do that cross section in that locker room and the talent that was there, how well the company was doing, what the fuck went wrong? Gotta be management. I could point a couple of fingers on things that I know went wrong because they personally went wrong with me or I personally saw them go wrong with my own eyes. But for the most part, it was management,” Ray said.
