Bubba Ray Dudley: Me And D-Von Are The Reason People Chant, ‘We Want Tables’
Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley discuss popularizing the use of tables in WWE.
“We want tables!” is a chant heard in arenas around the world, and perhaps no act in the history of wrestling is associated with tables quite like The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley).
During a recent WWE Retrospective video, while discussing about their Tag Team Tables Match against Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy at the 2000 WWE Royal Rumble event, Bubba Ray explained how they made tables cool, referencing the chant that is frequently heard during WWE events.
Bubba Ray Dudley jokingly mentioned that you never hear the kind of love for ladders or chairs in modern wrestling.
“Me and D-Von did not invent putting people through tables, but me and D-Von made it cool. People don’t chant, ‘We want ladders.’ People don’t chant, ‘We want chairs.’ People chant, ‘We want tables,’ and you’re looking at the guys who are responsible for that,” said Bubba.
Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley recently participated in NXT 2300 at the former ECW Arena. Sabu recently said the event was less-than-stellar as a nostalgia show. Read his comments here.
