Bryan Danielson: Wheeler Yuta Joining BCC Has Been Good For Him, Picking His Brain Makes Me Better
Bryan Danielson discusses his bond with Wheeler Yuta.
Danielson and Yuta are often associated with one another for their partnership in the Blackpool Combat Club, a faction that has torn through the ranks of All Elite Wrestling since its inception in 2022.
Danielson had a hand in bringing in Yuta to the faction in April 2022, as he stood by the side of William Regal while he was shaking Yuta’s hand following a bout with Jon Moxley.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Danielson revealed that he arrived early at various AEW shows with Yuta to teach and train other talent. Danielson also noted that he often picks Yuta’s brain, which helps him improve as a wrestler himself.
“I go in earlier with Wheeler to teach and train, and I also pick his brain as a younger wrestler,” says Danielson. “That makes me a better wrestler. Through the process of teaching, I’m becoming better. Wheeler joining the group has been good for him. It’s been good for the rest of us. Helping him with some things makes me realize I need to work on certain things.”
Danielson then went on to talk about Wheeler Yuta’s past with Best Friends.
“The idea of Wheeler being with the Best Friends before, and now being with us, that makes us seem different,” says Danielson. “The idea is, when you join us, you can’t be that anymore. That kind of stuff is cool. I tried to get that across in one of my nights on commentary when Mox, Claudio, and Wheeler were wrestling The Best Friends and Rocky [on Dynamite in June]. My point was, those are the guys Okada hangs out with. Look at the guys I hang out with. That tells you so much.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Danielson talked about the Blackpool Combat Club and stated that he never wants the group to disband. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
