Bryan Danielson Reiterates Desire To Never Fully Retire Again ‘Unless Something Happens Medically’
Bryan Danielson never wants to fully retire again and he’s making that very clear.
Ahead of his dream encounter with Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty, Bryan Danielson spoke with Justin Barrasso at Sports Illustrated to preview the exciting bout.
Danielson, when saying that he is expecting to bring the best of himself to AEW Dynasty in St. Louis, spoke about being in his final year of wrestling full-time and said that he never expects to fully retire barring any serious incidents that would require him to do so for medical purposes.
He also offered a glimpse into his potential future where he may possibly wrestle in front of smaller crowds.
“Expect the best version of Bryan Danielson,” said Danielson. “After I am no longer wrestling full-time, that will be different. Unless something happens medically, I’ll never retire. Now will it be my best work? I don’t know. But there is something to be said about going out and performing in front of a small audience, which I am very passionate about.
Danielson is also looking to cherish this match with Will Ospreay and lock in the feeling of what it will be like to wrestle someone he considers to be the future of the industry so that he may carry the feeling with him after he is done wrestling on a full-time basis.
“I’ll close my eyes during the match so I can feel what wrestling him feels like,” said Danielson. “Ever since I was forced to retire, I do that in my matches. Soon, I’m not going to feel that on a regular basis. I want to capture it in my memory. All I’ll have to do is close my eyes, and I’ll be there.”
Danielson was previously retired for two years from 2016-2018 when he was in WWE and could not get cleared by their medical personnel.
