Here is your post-AEW Dynamite fight size update for Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Here is your post-AEW Dynamite fight size update for Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

– The show fittingly opened with a clash between The American Dragon and The Dragon Slayer. On the night when AEW Dynamite was presented by the new “Game of Thrones” spinoff, “House of the Dragon”, the two foes clashed in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match that turned into an instant classic. By the end, both men were bleeding, and Danielson made Garcia pass out.

– Jungle Boy and Christian Cage have been feuding for a number of weeks, and their rivalry reached a new level on Wednesday. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion challenged Cage to a match at All Out, and the veteran tried to manipulate Jungle Boy’s heart by saying they were a family and he wanted to take him to the promised land. Jungle Boy saw right through it and attacked Cage. He ended up slamming his enemy into the steel steps until officials separated them.

– Toni Storm kept rolling on Wednesday. She picked up another win, this time in a singles match against KiLynn King, before the broadcast team announced that she will challenge Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW All Out.

– Daniel Garcia might be doubting his allegiance to the Jericho Appreciation Society. After his match with Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho attacked the veteran, and Garcia pulled the JAS leader away. They had a heated confrontation, and Jericho later stated that he wants to have a face-to-face conversation with Garcia next week, where the latter will be forced to pick a side.

– The Gunn Club picked up an easy win over The Varsity Blonds before they turned on their father, Billy Gunn. But The Acclaimed made the save and, for the first time since Billy betrayed them, Anthony Bowens shouted, “Scissor me, Daddy Ass,” and they did.

– Ahead of their title match on AEW Rampage, Private Party made it clear that they’re feeling confident, while Swerve in Our Glory noted that this will be the closest the challengers ever get to the titles.

Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh challenged FTR and The Pinnacle to a trios match at AEW All Out. FTR stated that you don’t mess with The Pinnacle, so while Wardlow doesn’t need their help, they have his back.

– AEW World Champion CM Punk kicked off the show and dropped some eye-opening insults about Jon Moxley. The AEW Interim World Champion came to the ring and fired right back. After a staredown, Moxley stole a kiss before the champions brawled, setting up their title match for AEW All Out.

– But after Jon Moxley called Punk out and dared him to fight him, AEW president Tony Khan moved up the title bout. The two stars will clash in a bout that will determine the undisputed champion next week on AEW Dynamite.

Kenny Omega made his long-awaited return and reunited with the Young Bucks in their AEW World Trios Championship Tournament match.

– Omega and the Young Bucks defeated RUSH, Andrade El Idolo, and Dragon Lee to advance to the next round. After the match, Andrade and RUSH turned on Lee.

– When asked about betraying Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs stated that while Ricky might be okay with losing, he’s not, so he decided to break out on his own. He then stated that he has “something” for The Factory.

– Death Triangle hyped up their looming battle with United Empire, with PAC calling the trio an indestructible unit.

– The TrustBusters previewed their match with the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy on AEW Rampage; Ari Daivari vowed that the group would win and get one step closer to the trios titles. Meanwhile, the Best Friends noted that, as their name suggests, they’re actually friends.

– After the Varsity Blonds’ loss to the Gunn Club, Griff Garrison expressed his frustration.

– During his promo, CM Punk made it clear that he’d be willing to give Hangman Page a rematch for the title, but Page didn’t respond. Punk subsequently called him a coward. In a tweet, John Silver revealed that Hangman was a little busy at the moment.

– Punk also took a shot at Eddie Kingston, calling him the third-best Eddie he’s wrestled and the second-best Kingston. The Mad King responded in a tweet, noting that Punk talked trash when he wasn’t even there.

– EFFY commented on Moxley kissing Punk, stating that he’s a “gateway drug.” He and Moxley kissed during their match at GCW Homecoming over the weekend.

– In a vague tweet, Garcia shared his thoughts on his match and the subsequent showdown with Jericho.
