Bruce Prichard Speaks Candidly About The Criticism Stephanie McMahon Received As Head Of Creative
Bruce Prichard opens up about the criticisms Stephanie McMahon received during her early days at the head of WWE creative.
Nowadays, Stephanie McMahon is embedded into the corporate infrastructure of WWE. However, there was a time where she was still young in the industry and a lot of the people she was now in charge of were those within the industry that saw her grow up which made it difficult at times for them to take Stephanie seriously as a boss.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Bruce Prichard spoke candidly about why Stephanie McMahon had those hurdles early on in her career and why he would prefer somebody with her life experience in the wrestling industry over somebody with more traditional education in the world of business or somebody with more experience in the wrestling industry.
“Again, you look at everything that Steph has done, especially now, it was all new then. It was all brand new. Like anything else, people would sit back and go, ‘oh, my God. They don’t understand. You gotta earn your stripes, you’re new. You’re four years in the company,'” Bruce began. “Well, a part of that is true. You forget about the other twenty-five years living the life of the company and being surrounded by [it] her entire life. So, for someone, let’s say, you know, an eight-to-ten year veteran in the company and this kid comes in, [and] they’re only there because they’re in the family, they forget about the experience and the education that they received at the foot of the people making those decisions for their entire life and how all those decisions affected their entire life.”
Prichard continues, “So, I’ll take those that experience over the Harvard graduate any day of the week. That’s just life. I think that’s human nature and how people look at things sometimes without a realistic look of, ‘okay, well, maybe give them a chance. Just because they’re young doesn’t mean they’re stupid.'”
It’s been a busy week for Bruce Prichard. The Something To Wrestle host recently gained control of Monday Night Raw making him the Executive Director of both WWE main roster brands. Learn more at this link.
